Politicians, Athletes, Foodies & Doctors

The first time I voted I was 8 years old...
I...Love...politics and politicians. Only after I came back from England did I start watching Cable news shows...and probably too much of it. I guess before I was in medical school I was too immature and then I missed what was going on in the US.
But who cares about that, don't you want to know who I voted for when I was 8 years old...true story:
My mom let me into the voting booth. I knew who she was going to vote for(Dukakis) but for some reason the names weren't clearly next to the party names and pictures...I swear! All I saw was a picture of Lincoln next to the Republican party. As she went to press the Democratic button, I stopped her and said: "Lincoln is the good guy, you want the candidate that is like him." She gave me a confused look but somehow believed me. We then pulled the lever together...Yes, the booth was that old.
My mom has never held a grudge with me...She didn't talk to me for 2 days. Thinking about it now, I can imagine that as an immigrant with US citizenship, it was really important. Technically she probably only voted for a president 3 times before that day.
So as I'm trying to define my labels, politics and the Government are important to me. I never wanted to be the President as a child, but definitely in my adult years I thought I could be one. Even as I search for a job now, I really want to work for the government as I'm in DC, the center of all the action.
I sort of played sports in high school but I was nowhere near getting any playing time. My mom still hates that she put me through so many years of Soccer because I just stood around. But being put in swimming lessons and sports teams was their way of "Americanizing" us. But on any Saturday Morning you'll find me cheering for the University of Michigan Wolverines and probably the next day you'll read a post....hopefully in the win column.
TV and Food....self-explanatory. But as a Health Degree holder, nutrition is a big part of recommending a proper healthy lifestyle. So this will be why I'll post a lot about food.
